The Best Shoes to Wear to the Office on Casual Days
While many of us have returned to the office since the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, there’s a good chance that the dress code has been relaxed a bit from what it was in “the before times.” There are more casual days with jeans becoming commonplace, as companies are making concessions to be a bit more employee-friendly after we got used to rolling into the “office” in our pajamas for much of 2020.
But a business casual environment also calls for different footwear than you likely wore with formal business attire. So, let’s take a look at the best shoes to wear to the office when you’re being a bit more casual.
Can’t Go Wrong With a Loafer
The loafer has walked the line of formal and casual for generations, making it the perfect business-casual shoe, especially in the warmer months. They are dressy enough to wear with dress pants and a blazer and casual enough to go with a clean, tailored pair of jeans. They also tend to be more comfortable than your typical oxford or derby shoe.
What About Boots?
Some boots are fine, while others are not. To perform a simple test to see if your boot is appropriate for the office, pull your pant leg down so the top of the boot is covered. Does the boot then look like a typical brown or black dress shoe? If so, then you’re good to go. As a rule of thumb, Chelsea boots are solid options.
No Sneakers
Even as high-end sneakers are beginning to inch their way into the more formal space, they’re still not appropriate office attire, as it takes the casual look a bit too far for most offices. Same goes for flip-flops or sandals in the summer.
And keep those shoes looking great for those casual days at the office with Red Moose’s line of polishes, brushes, kits, and shoehorns. Looking your best has never been easier!
