    Well worth the money

I love using this horsehair brush on my shoes, it keeps them looking great and shiny! The brush is also large enough to cover a larger surface area making brushing shoes quicker. I'd definitely recommend it for the price.

Probably Not Going to be My Go-to for Suede Cleaning But Good to Have on Hand

I tried using this brush on 2 different pairs of boots. I wasn't getting the results I was looking for, so I ended up switching back to a bristle brush for the initial "clean". After this experience, I think I do prefer bristles over the crepe rubber. However, one of the pairs of boots had a few spots that were noticeably dirty and a wee bit matted. I found that the Red Moose Suede Brush cleaned those spots better than the bristle. One other thing that I didn't care for about this crepe rubber brush is how pieces of suede get stuck in it and if not cleaned out prior to using on another piece, there will be some cross contamination. It's a well-made brush. If you prefer rubber over bristle, then give this a shot!

    Good for a rubber brush

This brush is high quality and the wood handle is a nice touch. It works pretty well to clean up dust and debris on my suede shoes. Sadly, I don’t think the crepe rubber brushes are as useful as the firmer, traditional suede brushes. I likely won’t buy another rubber suede brush, but the Red Moose is a great choice if you’re set on a rubber model.

Classic high quality brush, compares well against Kiwi

I've had the same Kiwi shoe brush for probably over a dozen years, but I really need two brushes now — one for black shoes and one for brown shoes. So I picked up this Red Moose brush hoping for at least the same quality as Kiwi. What I found is that it's certainly a very similar brush in many ways. It's almost exactly the same size and shape (really just the corners are more curved on the Kiwi). Both brushes feature similar grooved handles that fit well in my hand. However, I did notice a few differences. The Red Moose brush is a bit heavier, which I believe is due to using a denser wood for the handle and more densely packed bristles. Also, the bristles on the Red Moose feel softer to me, although that's most likely just because the Red Moose brush is new.I used to think that I wanted stiff bristles to do a better job of cleaning my shoes, but I've learned that soft bristles actually do a better job with polish. (Stiff bristles are fine if you just want to brush off dried mud, but soft bristles are best for polishing.)The Red Moose brush does cost a bit more than Kiwi, but it looks like that extra cost buys a more durable and more densely packed brush. For me, I'm happy with how it feels and the results it gets when I polish.

    Red Moose Suede Brush

I own a lot of suede items, booties and jackets. Smooth leather is easier it maintain perhaps but I’m drawn to the lush looking texture and feel of suede and nubuck. Inevitably the battle scars of everyday treks appear on any pair of suede shoes and they can begin to look beat up pretty quickly if not brushed and maintained. Dirt and dust can settle in quickly and turn into a grimy look that mats down the suede. In the case of this brush it claims to ‘erase’ scuffs while it brushes and refreshes the suede. Here you see the boots I worked on before and after. There was street dirt and some debris as well as some scuffing. I learned that if I rub too vigorously that the suede will slightly shred off in balls that look like suede lint (see third photo.). However a light touch and brushing in all directions including light circular brush strokes does indeed clean the suede, refresh it and remove for the most part the scuff marks. One does need to wipe clean after using which is easily done so no spread of colored lint is transferred. I think this is an ingenious design and overall I’m very pleased with it’s performance.

Old World quality in an old school brush

This pleasingly simple, beautifully made brush is pure nostalgia for me, bringing back the days when my dad wore a three-piece suit to work and polished his shoes every night, finishing them with a soft buffing cloth and a brush just like this one. This fits well in the hand and has the texture of a finish brush; the horsehair bristles have a texture similar to that of a baby brush, so it's not designed for getting off caked-on mud and dirt but rather for shining and buffing. It's soft enough to do duty as an upholstery brush as well.
